ABCs of Art Summer Camp
Here are some pics from the art camps we taught a few weeks ago at the Museum. We had the best time with our crew of 4 and 5 year olds. We made sculptures out of chocolate clay, learned birds songs and made our own bird wings, did scavenger hunts in the galleries, created color wheels and painted with toy cars, and made up some crazy imaginary animals. At the end of the week, we showed off all we had done in an exhibit we made for the families. I was so proud of the kids when they stood up and told everyone their favorite parts of camp. Best success story was a little boy who cried the first day of camp and did NOT want to be with us. By Friday, he was all smiles and couldn't wait to tell people about the art he had made. Art really can be fun!! And on a side note, I'd really like to be a professional summer camp teacher.

LEAH! I saw your aprons in this photo, and said to myself "Leah must have made these, they are WAY too cute!" And then I scrolled down to your next post... you are just way too cute, and I miss you!! You have made me want to make some aprons!!
PS: Jeff got a job offer in Austin - looks like we might be moving there next year:)
Um, I feel like I should point out that you ARE in fact a professional summer camp teacher. And the best one eva, in the history of camp (including camps that can't be called "camp"!).
