Home, Sweet (still really unorganized) Home

It's official...I've been back in the Lone Star State for two months and am finally moving into my apartment. My brother and sister-in-law and their 3 boys have been angels in letting me live with them since I got here, and I've been totally spoiled. I've loved coming home to the boys asking me "did you have a fun day at work?" and joining the family for dinner, scriptures, prayers and bedtime. Chad (my bro.) & Julie are the best parents around and my best friends here. I'm so lucky to have them. In fact, I've loved being close to them so much, I found an apartment that's only a few blocks away. They'll never get rid of me now!

Here's what the apartment looked like before...

And then after the pod arrived...absolute chaos!!

I know they're only belongings and not the most important thing in life, but I have to say I was really happy to see my stuff again. I felt a little sheepish when the movers delivered it and opened it up to unpack everything. I fessed up right away that by the time we got to the end of packing the pod up, it was way past midnight, I was out of boxes, and finding random things that I had forgotten about (a rice cooker, a lamp, etc.), and really didn't care any more. Also, I fully intended to be the one unpacking it and didn't think the professionals would ever set eyes on it. They promised they had seen it all, and then carefully inched the door open. There was only a minor avalanche of stuff, and for the most part everything survived. It took them a mere hour to unload what took me hours and hours of fretting and rearranging. Now it's just a matter of finding a place for everything and building all kinds of IKEA furniture. To be continued (soon I hope)...

So, this is what the apartment looks like? Glad to know that you are getting settled--or is it un-settled?
Love,
Mom
