What's that on your head?

My super-fab co-workers surprised me last week with an office b-day celebration. We always like to go out to lunch, have treats, maybe do a dance or two to celebrate one another's birthdays, but they managed to catch me off-guard by celebrating a day early. Sneaky! So when I walked into the office after teaching a preschool class, I was showered with brownies, a HSM-decorated desk, and this amazing HAT. Oh yes, it is a hat that my incredibly talented co-worker constructed from cardboard and felt. It was just a little too heavy to wear all day, but I did try it on for pictures. It makes me think of Dr. Seuss. And makes me think perhaps I should do more with cardboard and felt in my life. Oh the places you'll go...with felt.

That hat is awesome. Felt really is magic, too. I've thrown together some very last-minute Halloween costumes in the past with felt I found sitting around my house. So glad you got spoiled by your co-workers on your birthday! October is such a magical month.

I love this! More, I love that in the absence of the Tall Girls/Brown Sugar Maple Crew, some cool folks made you feel special in what sounds like the perfect Leah Claire way.
